Days
and probably weeks before the Service, the musicians, speakers, leaders,
teachers and participating school children took part in rehearsals and
prepared for their roles. A
few days before the service, others played their part, as people came
to donate greenery and flowers and volunteers arrived to decorate the
church.
It
has become a tradition at Christ Church to mark special church events,
such as Harvest, by filling the church with floral decorations. I have
been lucky enough to be present to witness these preparations on several
occasions.
I
find taking part quite exciting. Why
not join in the fun when the church is decorated for Christmas? No special
skills are needed, as I find there are always some easy activities for
novices like myself.
