Christ Church Douglas-In-Parbold
All age Worship - Sunday 11th July 2004

The music played at the beginning and end of the All Age Service on July 11th was provided by some of the musicians from our church Youth Band and some from the church Music group.

It was dull and wet and cold outside on July 11th but inside church the atmosphere was bright and sunny.

The Theme of the service was 'Run the Race', told through dance, music, puppetry, drama and Story Telling.

The Service was led by the Light Brigade Puppet Theatre and was intended to have particularly appeal for the younger members of the church.

Judging by the smiling faces and the energetic, lively participation during the songs, it seemed to me that the service was also enjoyed by many people of all ages.

The photographs (shown left and above right) show some of The Light Brigade puppets performing as a Muppet like choir during one of the songs.

Unfortunately, there aren't any photographs of the young members of the Light Brigade Theatre Group dancing and singing, as I hadn't wanted to disturb the service by using flash. The dancers were moving so quickly that any photographs I'd attempted to take would have just been a blur.

The final three photographs show people enjoying the refreshments that were served after the service.

Tea, coffe and orange juice are always available after the 10.00 am service. On this occasion there was an extra treat for everyone. Barbara Long was celebrating her graduation and had invited us all to celebrate with her with a glass of wine and / or a piece of cake.
